Jeff Christensen and Nick Davis each signed an NAIA letter of intent to join the Griffins in the fall.

SALT LAKE CITY - The Westminster men's basketball team has announced the signing of two more players for the 2009-10 season. Head coach Tommy Connor announced that Jeff Christensen and Nick Davis each signed an NAIA letter of intent to join the Griffins in the fall. With the addition of Christensen and Davis, Westminster has now signed six players for next season.

Christensen, a 6-8 forward from Sandy, Utah, will join the Griffins after serving an LDS mission. He spent one season as a red shirt at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California. He played his high school ball at Alta High School in Sandy, Utah where he averaged 11.7 points and 5.9 rebound during his senior season.

"Jeff is a good addition to our program," said Connor. "He provides length, size, and athleticism to our front line. More importantly, he is a great student and person and has a strong desire to be a tremendous player. We are excited to help him reach his lofty potential."

Davis, a 6-5 forward from Boise, Idaho, spent one season at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming, before serving an LDS mission in Korea. While at Northwest he averaged 8.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and started all 32 games. Davis prepped at Capital High School in Boise where he was named First Team All-State and led his team to the championship game as a senior.

"Nick is a perfect recruit for our program," Connor commented. "He is a very skilled and versatile offensive player who will create match-up problems on a nightly basis. Nick's biggest challenge will be getting back into playing shape after taking two years off for a mission. Once he does, we expect Nick to be an outstanding player for us."

Westminster is coming off the most successful season in school history with a 30-5 record and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals. They won both the Frontier Conference regular season and tournament championships for the first time in school history.
