Eastern Oregon University student athletes Shaylee Nielsen and Kami Hernandez have been nominated by the Mountaineer Athletic Department to be considered as the Cascade Collegiate Conference representatives for the NAIA national Emil S. Liston and A.O. Duer Awards. The Liston Award, which Nielson is nominated for, recognizes the outstanding female junior student athlete of any NAIA intercollegiate basketball team with an overall GPA of 3.50. Shaylee is a member of the women's basketball team and is majoring in Physical Education and Health.

The A.O. Duer Award, which Hernandez is nominated for, recognizes the outstanding female junior student athlete of any NAIA intercollegiate team with an overall GPA of 3.75. Kami is a member of the women's soccer team and is a Physical Education and Math major.

A committee of Cascade Conference representatives will review all of the nominations from member schools and forward the conference nominees to the National office for consideration of the National Award.
