After two straight weeks on the road, the University of Montana Western men's and women's basketball teams return to the Straugh Gymnasium for Frontier Conference games against the Carroll College Saints and the Rocky Mountain College Bears on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5 and 6. The women tip off each night at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.

The Bulldog women enter the weekend riding a three-game winning streak. Last week, Montana Western downed nationally ranked Montana Tech 69-55. The Bulldogs finished the first half of the conference season with a 3-4 record and are 7 and 13 overall. A month ago, Montana Western opened the league season losing at Rocky 63-66 and at Carroll 57-71.

In conference play, Kristen Luedtke leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 13 points per game (ppg) followed by Rheanna Padden with 10. Chloe Mosey, Stephanie Dana and Nicole Tams each average five rebounds per game in conference play. In their seven conference games, the Bulldogs average 65 ppg while giving up 68.

Rocky Mountain College is 4-3 in conference play and 6-14 overall. In conference games, Molly Schenderline leads the Bears in scoring with 17 ppg followed by Adrienne Green with 13 and Tana Stewart with 10. Schenderline leads the team in rebounds with eight rebounds per game followed by Green with six. In their seven league games, the Bears averaged 69 ppg while giving up 70.

Carroll College is 3-4 in league play and 12-10 overall. Elly Bruursema averages 12 ppg in conference play followed by Alex Dunn with 10. Dunn and Sara Meyer each average five rebounds per game. The Saints average 65 ppg while giving up 63 in conference games.

The Bulldog men are 5-2 in the Frontier and 17-6 overall after last weekend's 86-77 win over Montana Tech. Despite the win, the Bulldogs dropped out of the Top-25 into the receiving votes category. In the first half of the conference season, UMW lost at Rocky 78-84 and won at Carroll 79-65.

In conference games, JaRon Brown leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 18 ppg followed by Brandon Brown with 11 and Terry Hauser with 10. JaRon Brown also leads the team in rebounding with seven rebounds per game followed by Garrett Fink with six. In their seven conference games, the Bulldogs average 72 ppg while giving up 71.

In conference action, Nate Richardson leads Rocky in scoring with 19 ppg followed by E.J. Ross with 16. Anthony Allen leads the team in rebounds with eight rebounds per game. In their seven league games, the Bears average 69 ppg while giving up 64.

In Carroll's seven conference games, Andy Garland leads the team and the conference in scoring with 20 ppg. Chris Medina is second on the team with 16 ppg. Garland also leads the team in rebounding with 11 rebounds per game. The Saints average 65 ppg in league games while giving up 64.
