The University of Montana Western Bulldogs shot a sizzling 62 percent from the field on the way to a 86-56 rout of the Carroll College Saints in a Frontier Conference men's basketball game from Dillon.

The Bulldogs jumped out to an 11-4 lead and never looked back. The Saints trimmed the Montana Western lead to five, 15-10 at the 12 minute mark of the first half, but that was as close as the Saints would get. The Bulldogs led 41-24 at the break.

The Bulldogs opened the second half with a 10-0 run to put the game out of Carroll's reach.

Terry Hauser led the Bulldogs in scoring with 21 points followed by JaRon Brown with 18 and Brandon Brown with 13. Garrett Fink and JaRon Brown shared rebounding honors with five rebounds each.

The Bulldogs hit 75 percent of their second half field goals for a game total of 62 percent. Carroll hit only 32 percent of their field goals. The Bulldogs scored 22 points off Carroll turnovers.

Andy Garland led Carroll with 15 points followed by Chris Medina with 11. Medina led the Saints in rebounds with five.

Montana Western improves to 6-2 in the Frontier and 18-6 overall while Carroll falls to 3-5 in league and 11-13 overall.

Montana Western hosts Rocky Mountain College on Saturday, Feb. 6 while Carroll travels to Butte, Mont. to face Montana Tech. Both games tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
