Six players scored in double figures as the the University of Montana Western Bulldogs edged the Rocky Mountain College Bears 91-88 in double overtime in a Frontier Conference men's basketball game from Dillon.

Neither team had the advantage in the game's first three minutes. A Theo Jackson field goal gave Rocky a 6-5 lead and ignited a 21-10 run that gave the Bears a 26-16 lead with 8:12 remaining in the half. Rocky built their lead to as many as 12 before the Bulldogs got a bit untracked.

Trailing 28-40 with 2:10 remaining in the half, Montana Western scored six straight points and held the Bears scoreless to end the half.

The Bulldogs' JaRon Brown opened the second half with a basket to cut the Rocky lead to four. The Bears looked to gain control and built their lead to nine, 47-38 with just three minutes gone in the second half.

After a Tyler Hurley field goal cut the Rocky lead to five, 45-50, the Bears went on a mini-run and built the lead to 10, 55-45 with 13:03 left.

The Bulldogs then began their come-back as they outscored Rocky 11-2 to cut the lead to just one 56-57 with 8:31 remaining. After two turnovers by Rocky and one by the Bulldogs, Terry Hauser gave the Bulldogs their first lead since early in the first half with a three-point field goal.

Neither team could gain the advantage in the final five minutes of regulation. Rocky led 71-68 with 30 seconds remaining. The Bulldogs set their play and Garrett Fink's 3-point basket with nine seconds remaining sent the game into overtime.

In the first overtime, a Layne Glaus jumper gave the Bulldogs an 81-79 lead with 50 seconds remaining. Theo Jackson followed with a Rocky basket to send the game into its second overtime.

In the second overtime, the Bulldogs led 89-88 with 10 seconds remaining. Terry Hauser made two free throws to give Montana Western a three-point lead and force Rocky to go for a long shot. An E.J. Ross shot fell short and the ball was rebounded by the Bulldogs' Brandon Brown to end the game.

Brandon Brown led the Bulldogs in scoring with 22 points followed by JaRon Brown with 19, Fink and Hauser with 13, Layne Glaus with 12 and Tyler Hurley with 10. Fink led the team in rebounds with 10. JaRon Brown fouled out in regulation and Glaus fouled out in the second overtime.

Five Rocky players scored in double figures led by Orlandor Westbrooks and E.J. Ross with 19 points each. Anthony Allen had 17, Theo Jackson 15 and Nate Richardson with 12. Allen took game rebounding honors with 14.

Montana Western improves to 7-2 in the Frontier and 19-6 overall while Rocky falls to 5-4 in league and 10-14 overall.
