Four More Digger Football Signees
The Montana Tech Oredigger football program has signed four more high school student-athletes to national letters-of-intent join the team this fall.They are Mike Touzinsky of Temecula, CA; Brennan Fisher of Frenchtown, MT; Josiah Moerkerke of Conrad, MT; and Alex Havlovick of Polson, MT.
Touzinsky, a 6'4" 200-lb outside linebacker/defensive end from Great Oak High School in the San Diego area, has been a two-year starter on defense. He garnered All-League honors as a junior and senior and was picked by his team as a captain both years as well. Mike will study business management at Montana Tech.
Fisher was one of the best defensive players in the state of Montana in 2009. He was chosen by the conference coaches as Defensive MVP of the league, while also garnering first-team All-Conference and All-State honors as he helped lead his team to the Class A state championship. The 6'2" 215-lb inside linebacker and Super State Team pick will participate in the East-West Shrine Game and the Mon-Dak All-Star Game this summer. Brennan will major in general engineering.
Moerkerke, a 6'2" 180-lb quarterback, led his Conrad High School team as the starter for three seasons. Josiah earned All-Conference recognition as a junior and senior, and was on the Academic All-State teams all three seasons. He was chosen as the Offensive MVP of his team in 2009, and holds school records for touchdown passes in a game (7) and completions in a season. Moerkerke will play in the East-West Shrine Game and the Class B All-State Game. He plans to study engineering at Tech.
Havlovick starred on Polson High School's offensive and defensive lines for the past two seasons, earning All-Conference recognition both years on offense. The 6'2" 270-lb Havlovick is also an exceptional long snapper who can add depth to the special teams units as well as the offensive line. Brian will major in electrical engineering at Tech.
These signees will join the Orediggers this August for preseason drills as they prepare to open the 2010 season in Alumni Coliseum against South Dakota Mines.
