Helena-MT. Coach Maureen Boyle announced the signing of another Montana prep volleyball standout. Catie Hanser, a senior at Billings Central High School in Billings, has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and volleyball career at Carroll College.

Hanser has earned All-State and All-Conference honors for volleyball and was named to the All-State All-Class Tribune dream team. Her performance earned her co-most valuable player of the divisional tournament.  Hanser was also awarded the Sportsmanship Award at the divisional tournament. A 3-sport athlete at Billings Central, she also competes in swimming and Track & Field. Along with her many athletic honors, Hanser will graduate with a 3.4 GPA, which has earned her Academic All-State recognition. She is planning on a pre-med or pre-physical therapy major.

"Catie has tremendous knowledge of the game," said Frontier Conference coach of the year Moe Boyle, "we are anxious for her to join the program and we look for her to make an immediate impact as an outside hitter and/or a defensive specialist."

Not only is Hanser a standout student athlete in her own right, she has deep family ties to the Carroll College volleyball program.  Hanser is the daughter of Bill & Liz Hanser; Liz was a member of the Carroll  College volleyball team from 1984-1987, a member of the Carroll College Athletics Hall of Fame,  and still holds numerous all-time records for the fighting Saints. She was conference MVP in both 1986 & 1987 and was also one of only ten members of the 1987 NAIA All-American team.

Coach Boyle went on to say "Catie is an outstanding high school athlete. She had an incredible volleyball career at Billings Central, where she played for her mom.  We are excited to have her join our Championship program."

Coach Boyle plans to add another signee for the volleyball program in the next couple of weeks.
