The Lewis-Clark State College women's volleyball team, the three-time defending Frontier Conference champion, has added its first recruit for next season with Junior College All American Nicole Graybeal of Spokane, the Warrior coaching staff has announced.

Graybeal played the past two seasons at Spokane Falls Community College and earned American Volleyball Coaches' Association All-American First Team honors as a sophomore. The 6-foot-2 middle blocker earned Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges East Region First Team honors and was a league All-Star. She also was named to the all-tournament team in all four tournaments she played in last season and was the NWAACC Tournament MVP and helped her team win the title. She was chosen her team's MVP as well.

"We are very excited Nicole chose to join our program," LCSC assistant coach Burdette Greeny said.  "She is someone that has shown incremental growth in each year of her volleyball career.  Nicole's coach at Spokane Falls, Jenny Rosselli, did a fabulous job of developing her game and was wonderful to work with in our recruitment of Nicole."

Graybeal transferred to LCSC for the spring semester and is currently working out with the team during spring drills. She plans to major in Dental Hygiene at LCSC.

"She enrolled at the semester and we have had the opportunity to get a jump start on raising Nicole's game to another level." Greeny said.  "We strongly believe Nicole will only get better, as evidenced by what we have seen in the short three weeks we have worked with her.  Her coachability is through the roof and in our three years here every player that has had the ability to absorb what we are teaching, like Nicole is doing now, has absolutely flourished.  She is extremely long and that allows her to put up a tremendous block and gives her the ability to be one of our primary offensive threats."

Graybeal earned second-team NWAACC East Region honors as a freshman after a stellar career at North Central High School in Spokane. She also played for the Sideout Club Team in Spokane.

She is the daughter of Wendy and Brian Graybeal and has two sisters, Brianna and Ashley.

"Nicole's positive personality has not gone unnoticed by us," Greeny said.  "She seems to always have a smile on her face, whether we're getting after it in our morning workouts or goofing around at our house.  There is no such thing has having too much enthusiasm in our book.  Nicole has fit right in with what we desire from our players and we expect big things from her in her two years here.  We are humbled she chose us."

The Warriors tied for the FC regular-season title last year, the third straight season the Warriors have finished in first place. LCSC also won the conference tournament title for the third straight year and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament. LCSC posted a 25-9 record last season and lost four seniors from the squad.
