Callie Kautzmann, a junior forward who started in 26 games for Division II Montana State Billings last season, is transferring to Rocky Mountain College this fall to continue her basketball career.

The 5-foot-10 Kautzmann, from Nampa, Idaho, averaged 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last season for the 11-16 Yellowjackets. She also had 27 3-pointers and 32 steals to her credit.

Kautzmann will be eligible to compete immediately at Rocky, where she will have two years of eligibility remaining with the NAIA Battlin' Bears.

"She's a real versatile player," Rocky coach Brian Henderson said. "She does give you that toughness to go inside, but you also have to guard her at the 3-point line. She can knock down the three. She's got a real solid game. That versatility is going to help our lineup."

Kautzmann played two seasons at MSUB. She started one game for the Lady Jackets during her freshman year while averaging 3.2 points and 3.6 rebounds.

Last season, she scored a career-high 26 points against the University of Mary. She followed that a few nights later with an 11-rebound effort against Chadron State.

"We really feel like she's a proven player," Henderson said. "We're just excited to have her. She'll be a great addition. She'll bring some great experience."

Kautzmann played at Centennial and Vallivue high schools in Idaho before signing with MSUB. She was part of a state Class 5A championship team at Centennial during the 2005-06 season and also helped Vallivue make the 5A title game in 2007-08.
