Women's Basketball - Sat, Jun 5, 2010
The women's basketball team at Rocky Mountain College has signed a pair of transfers from Utah colleges.

Dani Hosking from Southern Utah University and Amie Jensen of Salt Lake Community College will be joining the Battlin' Bears in the fall.

"I think both of these girls will have an immediate impact," Rocky head coach Brian Henderson said. "They're both going to come in and help us out a lot."

Hosking, a 5-foot-8 guard from South Weber, Utah, appeared in all 30 games for the Division I Thunderbirds last season. She averaged 4.2 points while averaging about 16.5 minutes of playing time per game.

Jensen, a 6-0 forward from Ogden, Utah, averaged 2.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore for SLCC, which was ranked fifth in the final National Junior College Athletic Association regular-season poll.

"They bring us the speed that we want and the athleticism," Henderson added.

As a freshman at SUU, Hosking appeared in 29 games with 15 starts. She averaged 6.4 points and 1.3 assists per game and led the T-Birds in 3-point shooting. She was a two-time all-state selection at Davis High School in Utah.

Jensen played in all 32 games as a freshman at SLCC and started 14. She averaged 6.6 points per outing, with five blocked shots and 22 steals to her credit. She was a two-sport athlete (softball and basketball) at Weber High School in Utah, earning all-region accolades in basketball.

Henderson commended Hosking and Jensen for their well-rounded games. "Their versatility is a product of hard work and good basketball skills," he said.
