Players from Carroll College and Montana State-Northern were named Frontier Conference Football Players of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week: Travis Browne, Carroll College, 5’11”,
190 lbs, junior, wide receiver, from Stevensville, Mont. In Carroll’s
35-3 road win over Rocky Mountain College, Browne caught six passes for
124 yards and two touchdowns. He also picked up six yards on one carry.
Other players nominated Bryce Burton of Rocky Mountain, Teague Egan of
Montana Tech, Bradley Padayao of Eastern Oregon and Derrick Pluff of
Montana Western.
Defensive Player of the Week: Marc Samson, MSU-Northern, 5’8”, 174 lbs, senior, defensive back, from Helena, Mont. In Northern’s 20-0 road win over Montana Tech, Samson had five solo tackles and seven assisted tackles. He had three interceptions including one returned 102 yards for a touchdown. The 102-yard return and 115 yards in interception return yardage are both school records. Also nominated Marc Bradshaw of Rocky Mountain, Kyle Carter of Montana Tech, Corey Dunn of Eastern Oregon, Drake Kula of Montana Western and Zach Richardson of Carroll College.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Don Saisbury, MSU-Northern, 6’2”, 235 lbs, senior, running back/punter from Helena, Mont. In Northern’s 20-0 road win over Montana Tech, Saisbury had eight punts for 375 yards including a school record 80-yard punt. The 375 yards punting is also a school record.
