Helena, MT - The University of Great Falls men's golf team played their best ever round of golf on Monday at the Bill Roberts Golf Course at the Carroll College Invitational tournament.
The team had a 320 in the first round and shot a 301 in the second round at the 54 hole tournament.
That's by far our best round ever. It's a big improvement, a good confidence builder," said UGF golf coach Steve Silsby.
Chris Richter, a sophomore from Big Fork, MT, led UGF with 76-69-145. Phil Marra shot a 74-75-149 and freshman Ryan Kovach (84-78-162) and Josh Wittman (86-79-165) after the first day of action. Their total after the first 54 holes was 320-301-621, which was good for fifth place.
Action continues on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
