Rachel Hosterman of Sierra Vista, Ariz., has signed a letter of intent to join the women's golf program at Rocky Mountain College.
Hosterman placed 17th (out of nearly 95 girls) at last fall's 5A state championship tournament in Tucson with a 36-hole total of 159 (82-77). She competed four years at Sierra Vista's Buena High School, which placed sixth out of 17 teams at last year's state championships.
Hosterman was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She placed third at the 5A regional tournament last fall and Buena finished first as a team.
She ranks as one of the leading junior players in the state, finishing first in the qualifying for the Junior State Championships and Optimist International Junior Golf Championship.
