Four Montana student athletes have signed Frontier Conference/NAIA
letters of intent to play football at the University of Montana
Western, according to head coach Rich Ferris.
Seth Long is a 6-2, 170 lb wide receiver from Helena, Mont. He will graduate from Capital High School this spring. Long caught 20 passes for 197 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 102 yards on18 carries and scored three touchdowns. He played on the Capital ‘s 2006 and 2007 State AA Championship teams.
"Seth, at 6'2", has the ability to make plays down the field over shorter defensive backs," said Ferris. "He is an outstanding academic athlete and we think he will be a perfect fit with our challenging experience one program."
He earned Academic All-State in high school and plans to major in Environmental Science at Montana Western. Long is the son of Tracy and Janice Long.
Makenzy Kelch, is a 6'2", 180 lb wide receiver from Ronan, Mont. He was a four-year letterman. Kelch earned all-conference honorable mention honors as a wide receiver.
"Makenzy is a very versatile athlete who has had a great high school career," said Ferris. "People get fooled by his disarming smile and friendly nature, underneath that is a very competitive individual that competes to win any sport he is involved in."
He has a 3.5 G.P.A., is a Who's Who Among American High School Students, and earned academic all-state honors. Kelch also participated in basketball, track, band, and was on student council. He plans to major in biology.
Kelch, will graduate this spring from Ronan High School. He is the son of Rene Kelch.
Keith Brant is a 6'1" 255 lb lineman from Missoula, Mont. Brant recorded 66 tackles in his senior year.
"There is one word that will aptly describe Keith, aggressive," said Ferris. " His aggressive nature will help either our offensive or defensive line."
Brant is the son of David Brant. He will graduate from Frenchtown High School this spring
Josh Anderson is a 6'3" 280 lb linebacker and tight end from Frenchtown, Mont. Anderson recorded 57 tackles and caught five receptions ran 101 yards and three touchdowns his senior year.
"We are excited to have Josh as a member of our program," said Ferris. "He has a good size and we look forward to having him compete in the future."
Anderson will graduate this spring from Frenchtown High School. He is the son of Larry and Suzanne Anderson. He has a 2.68 G.P.A and plans to major in physical education/healthcare and coaching.
