Carroll College Head women's soccer coach David Thorvilson recently announced that one more student-athlete has signed to join 2008 recruiting class. Lauren Cacopardo (kak-O-par-doe) (Boise, ID) has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer for the Fighting Saints.
Cacopardo, a member of the Les Bois United soccer club and Eagle High School, is a resourceful player that will help add depth to the holding midfield position for the Saints. Lauren's club team has won four consecutive state championships and they have advanced to the regional quarterfinals every year. She has also played varsity soccer all four years four Eagle HS and in 2005 the Eagle Mustangs won the state title. Cacopardo received honorable mention award in 2007 while playing midfield for her high school team. Lauren plans to major in Business Administration at Carroll. "Lauren is a strong player on the ball and will have a physical presence in the midfield position for the Saints," said coach Thorvilson.
Thorvilson anticipated one more student athlete will sign with the Saints before the school year is over. In all the Saints will have signed 9 new members to the 2008 team to help replace the 11 seniors that will be graduating in May!
