Dwayne Johnson, an all-conference junior college guard from California, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Rocky Mountain College beginning this fall.
The 6-foot Johnson, who is from Philadelphia, has played the past two seasons at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, Calif. He was selected to the all-Western State Conference North Division team last season.
Johnson averaged 8.5 points per game for the season for the 9-20 Bulldogs, but in conference action his averages were 11.8 points, 2.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds per contest.
"I just think he'll help us in the guard area," said Rocky head coach Bill Dreikosen. "In losing Elijah (Swan), we lose a kid who has been first team all-conference two straight years. There's a large hole to fill there and I think (Johnson) will help us solidify some good guard play, which you must have to be successful in the Frontier (Conference)."
