Forward Kale Eike, who helped Melstone win a state Class C championship in 2006 and then played two years at Miles Community College, has signed with Rocky Mountain College to continue his basketball-playing days.
The 6-foot-3 Eike was a starter for the Pioneers, averaging 7.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game last season for a 20-9 MCC squad.
Eike was also selected to the all-Region IX Tournament team as a freshman.
"I think Kale is a guy that's willing to do the little things," said Rocky assistant coach Wes Keller. "He's going to play extremely hard. You ask him to run through a wall, he'll do it ... no questions asked."

Eike scored 36 points and was a major star in Melstone's 83-78 overtime win against defending champion Gardiner in the 2006 State C title game played in front of 5,197 at MetraPark Arena.
He was a four-year starter at Melstone and an all-state performer. He averaged 24.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game at the state tournament.
"I don't think Kale is caught up in whether he scores a lot of points or not," said Rocky head coach Bill Dreikosen. "He just wants to win."
