Molly Schenderline, who helped Tongue River (Wyo.) High School capture a state title in 2005 and went on to star at Sheridan College, has signed a letter of intent to join the women's basketball program at Rocky Mountain College in the fall.
The 5-foot-11 Schenderline, who is from Ranchester, Wyo., is currently attending Montana State Billings and didn't play basketball this past season. The guard/forward will be a junior at Rocky and will have two years of eligibility with the Battlin' Bears.
She was a two-time all-conference and all-state player at Tongue River, which went 23-0 in winning the 2A state crown in 2005. Schenderline was also an all-Region IX and all-Wyoming Conference player at Sheridan during the 2006-07 season, averaging a region-high 19.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
"Molly is in constant motion," said Rocky head coach Brian Henderson. "She is very athletic. She has proven she can play at this level with what she did at Sheridan."
Schenderline was the leading scorer in Region IX as a sophomore with 461 points, with high games of 39 and 36 points. She made 60 3-pointers and snagged 267 rebounds.
"I really believe her athleticism and speed is going to strengthen our perimeter game," said Henderson.
Schenderline averaged 17 points per game during her senior year at Tongue River and was selected to play in the 2005 Montana-Wyoming All-Star Basketball Series.
