HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College volleyball coach Moe Boyle announced the signing of libero/defensive specialist Laurel Kassa, a Mead Hiigh School product and sister of graduating senior Natalie Kassa

Laurel was a team captain on the Washington 4A state runner-up Panther team. Mead finished fifth at state during her junior year. She also played golf for Mead and earned four varsity letters in that sport.

"Laurel is a seasoned defensive player," head coach Moe Boyle said. "She is a floor general on the back line and directs traffic along the way. She has a high volleyball IQ and has had great success in both high school and club volleyball."

The family connection was a draw for both Boyle as a coach recruiting the player and for Kassa as she looked at her options.

"She comes from a great family," Boyle said. "I feel like she has been a part of this program since her sister started four years ago and it is exciting to see her officially join the Carroll ranks. She will bring a lot to our team and to the Carroll Community off of the court too."

"Coming in on the heels of Carroll's 2016 Frontier Conference Championship and NAIA Tournament appearance, I couldn't be more excited," Kassa said. "Watching my sister be a part of the Carroll College volleyball for the last four years makes me so happy to join the program."

Kassa closes out a recruiting class that includes Aliyah Williams from Coeur d'Alene High School in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Helena High's Taelyr Krantz and Maddie Wolter from Boise High School in Boise, Idaho.
