SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

HELENA, Mont. –
Carroll College track and field will host the annual Trudnowski Open Friday at Vigilante Stadium in Helena.

It is the final home meet of the year, and the Saints hope to give the Carroll faithful a great show.

"Our kids are excited to compete at home one more time," head coach Harry Clark said. "We love our fans, and with the familiarity of our home track we hope to again hit great marks and set us up for a strong run during our final stretch."

To date, the Saints have qualified for nationals in 11 individual events and the women's 4x400-meter relay. Clark expects that number to improve this weekend, although wind is in the forecast may hurt times for athletes right on the verge of qualifying.

"The wind has been a factor at every single meet this season, and we will likely have to deal with it again Friday," Clark said. "It is just a fact of spring on the Eastern slope of the Continental Divide, but the kids don't make excuses, they go to work and tackle the challenge. We will get a clear day at one of our meets, and they will blow away the times they have done this year."

The Saints will also honor 11 seniors that will graduate this spring. The class is the most decorated in Carroll history, including four individual national championships and dozens of All-American honors.

"These seniors helped turn this program from just a few runners into a national champion contender and did it in a very short time," Clark said. "As we continue to build Carroll track and recruit at a very high level, we can look at this group and a few before and after as the ones that helped us establish the tone of the program."

The meet begins with a mixed 10k at 12 p.m. Field events begin at 12:30, the remaining running events begin at 1 p.m. with the 4x800-meter relay. The meet will be a rolling schedule with each event beginning after the conclusion of the previous event. Senior day activities will take place just before the final event, the 4x400-meter relay.
