GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Argo athletics has announced its first all-school apparel deal in program history, agreeing on a partnership with Under Armour, the global leader in innovative footwear and apparel. The deal will be five years in length, will cover all of the school's 19 varsity teams in an exclusive contract, and will create a base from which to launch additional revenue streams for the department.

The deal will outfit Argo athletics head-to-toe in quality Under Armour gear, while also helping the school launch its new name and new branding. On Tuesday, June 13, the University of Great Falls announced that it will be changing its name to the University of Providence, effective July 1 and that on July 13, the school will be unveiling a new school logo, athletic logo, and new school colors.

"It's a time of exciting change and growth for Argo athletics, and this new partnership with Under Armour will help us move forward in a big, bold, and fast way. We've been working on getting an apparel deal done since my arrival, and we couldn't be more pleased with the end result," Vice President for Athletics Dave Gantt said.

Never before have all the Argo teams been under one umbrella for athletic gear, and the new move will bring more visual consistency to the school's new brand. Longtime apparel provider and business partner Universal Athletic Great Falls will continue its work with Argo athletics, serving as the Under Armour rep. The arrangement maintains a familiar relationship while helping streamline the ordering processes.

"Universal Athletic is excited to continue our relationship with Argo Athletics.  This is an exciting time for the University and we could not be happier that Dave and his team have chosen Universal Athletic and Under Armour to help move them into the future," Universal Athletics National Sales Manager Brian Pepper said. "We all share the same vision of helping each team and athlete achieve their peak performance on the court or field of play."

One of the most immediate impacts of the deal will be providing the athletic department with enough financial support to get new home and away uniforms for every team with the new school name, logo, and colors for the upcoming 2017-18 season. The new gear will be revealed after the university's branding launch on July 13.

"Athletics is the most publically visible part of a university. Working with Under Armour will ensure that our teams are spreading the University of Providence name and new Argo look with the consistent, professional identity this school deserves." Gantt said. "This deal allows us to do that well and do it quickly. We can't wait to unveil our new gear."
