GREAT FALLS, Mont., April 2, 2009 - University of Great Falls Cross-Country and Track and Field coach Jim Brewer has announced the signing of Ander Jayo toan NAIA/Frontier Conference Letter of Intent for the 2009-10 season.

Jayo is a two-time All-State cross-country runner from Twin Falls High School in Twin Falls, Idaho finishing in 19th place his junior and senior years. He was also a member of the Two-Time Idaho 5A State Cross-Country Team Champions for Idaho in 2007 and 2008. Jayo's personal best times include a 16:38 in the 5K for cross-country, a 10:03 for the two mile run, a 4:41 for the 1 mile and a 2:02 for the 800 meters.

Ander is also a standout in the classroom with a 3.6 cumulative GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. The Idaho native plans on majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy at the University of Great Falls. 

"I am looking forward to being a part of a young, talented, upcoming cross-country and track program." said Jayo.

"Ander knows what it takes to be a part of a championship cross-country program so our men's team is very excited to have him on board," said UGF Cross-Country and Track Coach Jim Brewer. "We think he will make an impact in the Frontier Conference right away. I look forward to working with Ander the next four years. He is a gifted runner as well as an excellent student." 

He is the son of Joseph and Cammie Jayo.
