LEWISTON, Idaho - The Lewis-Clark State College men and the Rocky Mountain College women both hung on to win team titles on Tuesday during LCSC's portion of the Frontier Conference Tournament, which was held at the Lewiston Country Club.

The conference tournament is composed of six 54-hole tournaments - three held in the fall and three in the spring - and the combined team scores from each tournament are added together to determine an overall champion.

Tuesday's final 18 holes wrapped up the first tournament of the spring and saw both the LCSC men and RMC women add to their overall leads.

The LCSC men shot a final round of 311 during another day of cold and windy conditions on the hilly par-72 LCC course. Rocky Mountain had the best score of the day at 303, but came up one shot short in trying to overtake the Warriors. LCSC finished with a 918 team score, while RMC had a 919.

LCSC sophomore Connor McCracken was the only player to break par on Tuesday with a 69. McCracken also had a 71 in the opening 18 holes on Monday to own two of the three under-par rounds in the tournament. McCracken led the Warriors with a 54-hole total of 221.

However, it was McCracken's teammate not on the Warrior starting five who actually won medalist honors. Ben House of Lewiston fired a final round of even-par 72 to finish at 217.

In the overall team standings after four tournaments, LCSC holds a 58-shot lead over Rocky Mountain, which moved into second place, two shots ahead of Montana Tech.

On the women's side, Rocky Mountain was able to hold off LCSC, although the Warriors did gain eight strokes on Tuesday. RMC finished with a 328, its lowest 18-hole round, for a 993 total, while LCSC also had its lowest round with a 320, to finish five shots back at 999. Carroll was a distant third, 100 shots behind LCSC.

RMC's Jen Orchard won medalist honors as she fired the top round in Tuesday's play with a 75 for a 237 total. LCSC's Cortney Shrout was next at 244 and had one of three scores in the 70s on Tuesday with a 78. LCSC's Juanita Villa added a 77 and was next for LCSC at 247.

Rocky now has a 26-shot lead over LCSC with the two tournaments remaining - next Monday and Tuesday in Salt Lake City with Westminster as the host, and then on April 27-28 at Great Falls.
