SALT LAKE CITY â€" The Westminster women’s basketball team has signed Olivia Pierce-Eiselein to a NAIA letter of intent for the 2009-10 season head coach JD Gustin announced on Thursday. Pirece-Eiselein becomes the third player to sign with the Griffins for next season.
Pierce-Eiselein is a 6-3 forward that prepped at Billings West High School in Billings, Montana. She is a four-year letter winner and during her senior season she averaged 5.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and three blocked shots per game. She also competed on the track team and was on the Honor Roll.
“We feel fortunate the Olivia chose Westminster,” Gustin commented. “Her length and athleticism will immediately help our team. I think she has the potential to be a very good player in the Frontier Conference and the NAIA.”
Westminster is coming off the most successful season in school history. They finished the year 27-7 overall and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament. They won the Frontier Conference regular season championship with a perfect 14-0 mark in league games.
